ABOUT  LONNIE  WARDRIP

 

Lonnie Dean Wardrip, Sr. was born the son of Dwight Lee Wardrip and Patricia Rae Ferguson on 28 Feb. 1964 in Pierre, South Dakota.  Lonnie attended elementary school in Jackson Nebraska; 9th grade at Emerson High School in Emerson, Nebraska and he graduated from South Sioux City Senior High School in South Sioux City, Nebraska in 1982.  Lonnie and his first wife Patti Leland, had a son named Lonnie Dean Wardrip Jr.(Scooter), age 23.  He also had a daughter and a son with his second wife Karen Port.  Their names are Nicole Rae Wardrip, age 11, and Spenser Lee Wardrip, age 8.  Lonnie was the older brother of Wyatt Owen Wardrip of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Wade Dion Wardrip currently stationed at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. 
 

Lonnie was a veteran of US Army and a faithful employee of Polaris Industries of Vermillion, South Dakota. He was attending college in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and living in Yankton, South Dakota.  Lonnie was a very caring individual that the Good Lord decided to call home to heaven after a fatal car accident near Irene, South Dakota on 15 November, 2005.  He will be missed but not forgotten by all that knew him.

 

ABOUT  WYATT  WARDRIP

 

SIOUX CITY -- Wyatt O. Wardrip, 41, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010, at his residence.

Services were held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul United Methodist Church in South Sioux City, with the Rev. Nancy Leonard officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Wyatt was born June 15, 1968, in Wakefield, Neb., the son of Dwight L. and Patricia R. (Ferguson) Wardrip. He graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1987. He worked for Gateway and was a maintenance technician for Riverfront Apartments in South Sioux City.

He enjoyed playing pool, dancing, fishing and camping. Wyatt will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and his unique story-telling abilities. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include a daughter, Heather Wardrip of South Sioux City; his mother and her husband, Patricia and Bob Wilen of Sioux City; his father, Dwight Wardrip of Cortez, Colo.; a brother and his wife, Wade and Lori Wardrip of McAllister, Okla.; many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and a brother, Lonnie Wardrip.

Pallbearers will be Russell Chester, Terry Fowler, Ben and Brent Wardrip, Darren Palmer and Myron Ptak. Honorary pallbearers will be Dallas Reasonover, Brian Kampfe and Darrel Grimm.
